A few weeks ago I overheard Kate say, "Andrew, it's the end of summer so that means we get to ride a city bus to the fair!" So, although both Jason & I could have been happy with skipping the event, we decided to continue the family tradition.
Once again, the Little Hands Farm was the favorite attraction. This is so well-organized and perfect for the kids.
Grabbing their farming baskets.
They each chose a "seed" to plant under the correct markings in the garden.
And made sure it had lots of water.
Finding the produce that they had planted to put in their basket.
Picking an apple off the tree.
Then an egg from the chicken coop.
Then loading up all the goods to deliver with the tractors.
Tending to the cow who needed milking.
And then sorting all of the produce...
...to receive a well-earned "dollar".
The kids then got to choose one thing from the store to buy, and just like last year they both decided on a cool popsicle.
Other activities included at arts tent, looking at baby animals (and running into Kate's preschool teacher--which she loved!), a Lego tent, and of course sampling the famous fair food.
Another great day of summer fun in the books!
