Gymnastics

Kate just finished her first session of gymnastics, and tonight they had family night. We got to join the stretches and watch her class. It was fun to see what she has learned in the past few months!

Andrew got to try everything out and he loved it. To end class they had a hanging contest. First up was Kate & Andrew. Kate won.
After Andrew let go, daddy jumped in. Kate won.
Proud of our little athlete!

Play Ball!

Andrew is on a tee ball league this year. It's his first experience in a team sport, and while it started out a bit rough (in the first game they ALL went after the ball each time and a "big boy" stepped on him), he is now loving it. Tonight, Grandma & Papa came to the game, and I brought my camera. The pictures are so sweet and they really capture his personality: happy, full of energy, goofy, but focused when he needs to be.

(notice how many Red Sox are gathered around Andrew with the ball...they are still working on "playing their position" ;)

 Love this little guy.

Tulip Festival

We spent yesterday at the Tulip Festival in Orange City. Grandpa Vogel grew up there, so it was fun for us to enjoy some family traditions.
Dressed up in traditional Dutch clothing.

First stop: a replica of a Dutch windmill. Great-grandpa Vogel built this and Grandpa told the kids about his job pounding the "too long nails" into the roof.

After the windmill, the kids went on a few carnival rides, played on the playground in the park, road on a carriage ride around town, and then ate lunch.

The next event was the traditional street washing.

After the streets were cleaned we watched the parade and then headed home. It was a fun-filled day with lots of memories!

Lion King

After months of waiting, we were SO excited to go to the Lion King on Saturday. My sister, mom & I have a tradition of going to a show at the Civic Center every year, and it was fun to have the next generation join us. As expected, the show was magical & amazing.

Mothers Day

I did not take many pictures on Mother's Day, but we had such a perfect day. Jason and the kids spoiled me with Starbucks, time for a long workout while they grocery shopped, flowers and sweet presents that the kids had made in school. We also picked out flowers to plant around the yard.

So lucky these two are mine!
