3 Days of Fun

Every weekend should be 3 days long! Here are some photos of our fun and relaxation.
Kate enjoying a cookie at the farmers market downtown.
With mom & Aunt Alisha at a coffee shop.
Helping daddy wash my car (the fancy shoes were her idea!)
Taking a break on our 20 mile bike ride.
Kate's favorite part of the ride: stopping and throwing rocks & sticks into the river.
We hope everyone was able to enjoy this beautiful weekend as well!

Roller Coaster Weekend

What a crazy couple of days! We started off with a fun pizza picnic with the neighbors on Friday night, followed by a day of planting on Saturday. Jason got 6 trees planted (3 pines and 3 cherry blossoms) while I worked on potty training with Kate. She did a great job for day #1! Unfortunately, the next part of our Saturday evening was spent at the walk-in clinic, as Jason needed 6 stitches in his knees after a losing battle with the wheel barrow. Sunday was followed with a digression in potty training due to an overnight at grandma's and a 4 hour nap in the middle of the afternoon. We did get to enjoy the warm weather in Kate's new pool (see photos below). Then, when Jason was getting Kate dressed for dinner, her arm twisted funny in her dress which dislocated the elbow (this is the 3rd time in a year this has happened). So we spent the evening in the ER. Luckily, it just takes a quick pop from the doctor and the arm is as good as new. Kate was promised ice cream on our way there so she told all the staff that she was getting strawberry. Here's to hoping our next weekend is much more calm and relaxing and that we stay out of the medical offices for awhile!

It's a Boy!

We are so excited to announce that...
It was so wonderful to meet our little guy during the ultrasound today. He apparently likes to have his hand right next to his face, as he kept it there the entire time.
Little runner's feet?
Welcome to the family sweet baby!

Giddy Up!

Today while at my parents' land outside of town we had a fun surprise: a friendly neighbor came by on his horse and offered us all rides.
For Kate, it was one of those experiences that she wasn't sure about at the time, but then would not stop talking about it afterwards.
Mom's turn...
Lucky us! Not many 2 years olds can say they have ridden a horse!

Moms

Happy Mother's Day to our 2 favorite grandmas. Thank you for giving us such a good examples on what it means to be a good parent!

To Kate: thank you for letting me be your mommy. It's the best job I have ever had. And to my baby-to-be, I can't wait to meet you and have you a part of our lives!

Local Adventures

We once again had fantastic weather this weekend so we took full advantage of it. Saturday we spent several hours at the zoo.
Kate spent much of our time there wanting to use scissors because the animals were stuck in "nets" (aka the fences that kept them at a safe distance from little 2 year olds).
Seeing what it's like on the other side...
Sunday we took a really nice bike ride through Adel.
Kate does a great job riding and while we can't hear what she is saying, we know she spends most of the time chatting with Mono.
