Crab Apple Trees

What a better way to spend Earth Day than a picnic among the sweet smelling crab apple trees at Water Works Park?

Weekend Work & Play

We really enjoyed the weather this weekend...can't complain about sunny skies and low 70* temps! It was the perfect time to set up one of Kate's birthday presents: a sand and water table. She loved it and played with it for quite a long time. I think it will be a summer favorite.

And while Kate and I were doing wedding stuff with Aunt Alisha, Jason and his friend Lee spent all day landscaping our backyard. I don't have a "before" photo, but picture below without any of the bushes. They planted 26 in all, including some lilac and cherry-blossoms. Can't wait for them to get bigger!

Down By the River

Today Kate & I spent the afternoon with grandma at the cabin. It was so nice to be outside! We picked up an ice cream treat on the way and enjoyed it before we began the adventures. Kate's favorite part: throwing rocks and sticks in the water and watching them splash. (Luckily there was a large hill that allowed most of them to reach the water, even if the throw wasn't great!)

Happy Easter

Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter! Kate certainly got into it this year. First she dyed eggs with Grandma...
And then we spent a long time looking for plastic eggs in the yard. She would run from egg to egg and didn't notice when mom would take one from her basket and re-hide it to keep the fun going.

Mono's Bedtime

Kate was putting Mono down for a nap today. She got distracted in the middle of it, (see hiding in the curtains) but in the end she got the job done. Notice Mono gets "two books". That's how many Kate gets before bed too!

Renovations

Our winter project this year was to finish the basement. ( and when I say "our" I mean Jason's!) He spent many an hour workings downstairs and the results are AMAZING. Who knew I married such a handy guy?!
