Kate's Park

After eyeing the neighbor boy's playset for quite some time, we were thrilled when he declared himself too big for it and that it was time to pass it down to Kate.
It's the perfect size for her and she immediately jumped in.
Happy to be able to climb up the slide without other kids trying to go down.

This is her "store", where you can buy such things as broccoli, strawberries and cantaloupe (but don't be surprised when they all come out looking like handfulls of grass).
And a belly shot for all of you--31 weeks--can't believe we have single digits to go!

Windy City

Last weekend I enjoyed 48 hours of relaxation with two of my favorite girls and college roommates. Our tour of the city included all the basics: great shopping, amazing meals, people watching and live music.

Luckily, they were very considerate of my 30 week pregnant self and there was not one complaint of the tour of Chicago's finest restrooms or the frequent "I need to sit down for a minute" requests.
On our way home from N. Michigan Ave we had to take a detour...no it's not a horrific car crash, they were shooting a scene for the next Transformers movie. I was not happy to waddle the extra blocks, and will be boycotting the movie.

Holy Hot!

As the heat index passed 110* here today, we were quite excited when our neighbors turned on their sprinklers this evening. As you can see, it was just what a sweaty 2 year old needed!

This Is The Life

Well, arguably the best week of our summer has come and gone. This year at the cabin was especially fun because of all of the new things Kate got to experience. Here's a photo recap.
Lounging in the chair (I did much more of this than Kate, who maybe sat still for 3 minutes. Total.)
Watching everyone wake board. Kate would yell "down" to Grandpa when someone fell, and clap when someone hit a good jump.
Swimming with her turtle boat.
Helping Grandpa drive the boat.
Picnics.
Throwing "water sticks" from the dock. This kept her busy for hours!
A visit to the candy store in town.
Tubing with Daddy. She loved the bumps!

We went kayaking for an afternoon while Kate stayed back at the cabin. It was a beautiful 10 miles!
All worn out.
Thanks Grandma & Grandpa...can't wait to do it again next year!

4th of July

Hope everyone had a wonderful Independence Day. We spent the week in MN with Jason's family and had a fabulous time. Kate got to go to her first parade the morning of the 4th. Here we are waiting for it to start.
She was really confused at first...you mean people throw candy? And I get to run and pick it up?? And eat it??? She quickly got the hang of it and of course, loved every minute!
We then camped out to wait for fireworks. Kate found the perfect climbing tree, which kept her busy for literally hours.

Grandpa & Kate waiting for the show. This got lots of stares from other children around and made me nervous. It's all fun and games until Mono's head gets ripped off...
The show was spectacular and Kate said "oooh! ahhh!" for each one, just like she had practiced with Daddy.
