Let Her Eat Cake

We celebrated Kate's second birthday this weekend with both families and while Kate loved seeing everyone, the best part was definitely all the cake.

Ahhhhhhh!

This afternoon the sun finally peeked out and it was warm enough to go to the park.

Kate remembered all her favorites, with the only difference being instead of saying 1-2-3 on the slide, she says "uno, dos, ocho".
Hooray for a glimpse of spring!

Kate would like to announce that she will become a big sister in late September.

We are still working on the "big" part, since she barely tops 26 pounds, but we are all very excited!

KC Getaway

Jason and I took a long weekend to enjoy a child-free trip to Kansas City this weekend. We had an awesome room at the downtown Hyatt Hotel and happen to be there for the Big 12 Basketball finals.

Saturday night we watched the Kansas vs. Kansas State game in a large covered outdoor area with a big screen TV.
It was really crowded and the atmosphere was great! Our hotel was very close to Union Station which was a neat old building.

Overall, it was the longest time we have had alone in 2 years and it was wonderful to have time to shop, eat at non-kid friendly restaurants and sleep in late! Thanks to the grandparents for watching Kate!

Baby Bear

The other day Kate pulled out her bear that Aunt Alisha bought her the day she was born. I had to take a picture to do a comparison. Here she is at almost two......and here in the NICU on day two.
