The Little Things

Just a short video that captures the joy of small ordinary moments, sibling love, & excitement that comes from things that pop.

Picasso

Kate has turned into quite the artist. She always chooses the art center at school, and spends all of her time in after-school care at the coloring table. It's been so much fun to see her creative side!
 A baby penguin as part of the zoo she drew on our deck with chalk.
 Self Portrait.
 Self Portrait 2.
 A Playdough version of Mono.
 And...a "behavior chart" that she drew for me tonight. This features a smiley face above the cookie, and a frowny face above the cookie that is crossed off. My objective was to earn a sticker under the smiley face, by giving her a cookie. {Please note that I find this last piece more conniving than artistic}

Random Acts of Vogel

Time for another installment!

 I took this picture on a sweet walk that Andrew and I took around the neighborhood. He ran to each dandelion and had the best time blowing the seeds (sorry to our new neighbors who will probably have ample dandelions come spring!)
 I love when Andrew lays on his tummy to read or color!
 A few of my friends from Cedar Rapids came down last month to run The Color Run. As you can see it was quite different than the normal races I run...and super-fun!
 {See: love when Andrew lays on his tummy}

 Preschool is exhausting!
 Riding home after the pumpkin patch in Omaha. There is something about seeing them sleep in their car seats that reminds me of when they were tiny babies...

 Dorthy & the Cowardly Lion "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" during trick-or-treating at the zoo.
 Andrew riding his bike. While carrying a PB&J sandwich.

Halloween, etc.

This weekend we (well, mostly Jason) did something we haven't had to do since moving from Cedar Rapids 4 years ago: rake!

Next up: carving pumpkins...

 My brave little girl who's not afraid of pumpkin guts!
 Working together.
 Drawing a face for daddy to carve.
 Hmmm...should I, or shouldn't I?
 I should.
 Popping out the pieces.

 Andrew's turn to draw a face on his pumpkin. He took this very seriously.

 Kate was not so serious.

 Daddy decided to drill holes in Andrew's so we could poke Christmas lights through. Andrew is on board with anything that involves power tools.
 And last night we had trick-or-treating! This year we had Dorthy with her red slippers...
 ...and a cowardly lion who wouldn't keep is hood up, despite complaints of "I cold".

Hope everyone's Halloween was full of treats!
