Giving Thanks

In this time of thanks, I decided to ask my children what they are thankful for. Did they say "mommy", "daddy", "the warm roof over our head"? Nope...

(Well, maybe I should just pretend that's what Andrew said)

2 Months

Andrew turned 2 months yesterday. We survived the doctor's appointment today, and only one of us started crying before the shots even started. (It wasn't Andrew) He is very alert, smiling more and starting to coo.
Here are his stats:
Weight-12 pounds 13 ounces (76%)
Height-23 inches (53%)

Over the river...

...and through the woods for 7 miles! Today Jason braved the November weather and ran in the largest cross-country race in North America. He was part of a team to raise money to help our friend's 4 year old son. (thanks to everyone who donated!)
We camped out at mile 3 to cheer him on.

Andrew peeped one eye open to check out the action, but then went back to sleep. He thinks that next year he might join his daddy.

Road Trip

Since my sister is moving to Des Moines in a month (yippee!!), we decided to take a road trip to visit her in Omaha. We spent all day at the awesome children's museum. Here Kate is at the water table, last year this was her favorite but this year she didn't stay long.
Driving...thank goodness we still have 12 years before this really happens!
In the ball room.
Getting her face painted (I will not be quitting my day job)
Stealing some chocolate dessert at lunch.
Andrew joined us for all the adventures and did really well. Next year he will be playing right along with his big sister!
The whole day Kate had a hard time remembering the word "museum". When Jason asked her where we had gone today, she enthusiastically replied "the Zamboni!"

5:00pm

Last night I sent Jason this text message: SOS: Kate is naked, Andrew is crying and I am wearing a tutu. Luckily, by the time he came home, Kate was dressed like a fairy princess,
and Andrew was happy because Kate shared her wand.
I, however, was still wearing my tutu.

Comparison

As requested by a fan, here is a comparison of Kate & Andrew at about the same age.

Seven Week Smiles

At seven weeks, this little guy has started to smile.
And while he doesn't give them away for free...
...he sure is cute when we get one!

Sleeping Round #2

Just when we thought we had this whole big-girl bed thing figured out, Jason discovered this at 10:00 last night:
I guess this is what happens when you have 17 "guys", 3 blankets, a pillow and 10 books in your bed each night.
