Class is in Session

Ever since Kate started preschool, a favorite activity has been to play school. Kate is always the teacher, which I love because it gives me a peak at her day...it also gives me a break from teaching! During this particular lesson, she is teaching me about the human body, one of her favorite topics. Towards the end she adds a creative flare (and cross-curricular teaching) to the lesson by trying to make things rhyme.

Palisades

Yesterday we drove the two hours to our yearly Cavanagh family reunion outside of Cedar Rapids. The day was brisk, but we all enjoyed the fabulous food, crunchy leaves, and spending time with so much family!

Andrew spent a lot of time filling this bucket with leaves, then dumping it over to make a "castle". 

So sweet to have the next generation (Kate and Andrew + second cousin Henley) posing for the traditional "ghost photo". 

Palisades has always been one of my favorite fall traditions, and I love that my kids enjoy it as much as I do!

Pumpkin Patch

Yesterday we drove to Omaha, where Uncle Mike had tickets for a huge pumpkin farm. Grandma & Grandpa Vogel met us there as well, and we spent 4 hours enjoying the activities.

As you can see, it was quite the busy & fun-filled day. Thanks to Uncle Mike for the tickets and to Grandma & Grandpa for meeting us there!

Preschool Pumpkin Patch

Kate had her first preschool field trip-to the pumpkin patch! Luckily, Papa Jack was able to ease my working-mother guilt by going with her. He got some great shots to capture the day.  

Fall Photos
