Let Your Freak Flag Fly

Back in August, Kate decided this was going to be the year she tried out for the school play, Shrek. Having never done something like this before, I had no idea what to expect. She ended up getting the part of Pinocchio,  and after months of hard work and practice, it was time for the show. She did an amazing job and I cried through the entire performance. It is such a joy watching your child step out of her comfort zone and shine. We are beyond proud of our little star.

Pumpkin Patch

It almost didn't happen, but we managed to sneak in some time at a new-to-us pumpkin patch. It was a sweet way to spend an afternoon together.

Palisades

One of our favorite fall traditions is spending an afternoon at Palisades with family.

Fall Lately

So much fun this fall!

Andrew's first football game, watching one of my former students.
Trick or treating at school one night.
 Guinea pig love.
A much needed hike after a hard day.
Early morning photo before we go on our (separate) Saturday runs.
Andrew loved his football season. His team only lost one game!
 Pumpkin carving.

It snowed the day before trick-or-treating. It was pretty, but I was a no thank you.
This was the first year that the kids went out by themselves, while the adults stayed in with cheese and wine. Everyone met afterwards for a giant candy trading.
A rare moment of quiet while 3/4ths of us read by the fire.
First ISU game of the season, complete with Clone Cones.

 Making apple crisp.
 Fun with filters.
