Oh July, please stay! As the saying goes, "For teachers, August is one long Sunday night". With school just a few weeks away, it is sad to realize the month is already over. In addition to the fabulous week we spent at the cabin, we had lots of fun around home.
One of the best things that came out of this month was our new patio. It has quickly become my favorite place to be this summer, and we even had movie night out there, using a temporarily placed television.
Our very first fourth of July spent in Des Moines. The kids loved the Urbandale parade!
Kayaking with Grandma C.
Andrew finished up t-ball, which he loved.
Using the vacuum to give himself a new hairdo.
He's a bit of a weirdo.
Fun at the creek at Ledges State Park.
Kate & Grandma took their annual trip to the Omaha Zoo. She was in heaven with time alone with Grandma, seeing all the animals, and swimming in the hotel pool.
The note she left on our bed before she left.
Andrew & I also had a great day. He was in heaven with alone time with mom, video games at the mall, a trip to the gas station to pick out a treat, and lots of time at the pool.
The perfect picture of summer: no shirt, corn on the cob, dirty feet propped up without a care in the world.
