With my sister working and my dad in Africa, we decided to switch up our annual Thanksgiving drive to Eastern Iowa, and instead spent the day at Uncle Tom & Jenny's house in town. It was a quiet day with lots of great food and time together.
My little turkeys in their hats they made at the library.
Each plate decorated with a place card compliments of Kate.
Andrew spent LOTS of time playing with Pronk. While Kate is still nervous around dogs, Andrew loves them once he warms up.
After a fabulous dinner, we each wrote what we were thankful for on a feather. I overheard Kate say, "Andrew, do you know what thankful means? It means what makes you happy".
And then we colored
and made thumbprint turkeys.
Finally, no Thanksgiving is complete without pumpkin pie. Andrew found the most efficient way to eat his.
On Friday we drove to Western Iowa where we got to spend time with all of the Vogels, including cousin Knoxley. We ate more great food, Grandma & Grandpa took the kids to a movie, and we enjoyed the unusually warm weather.
We are so thankful for all of our family both near and far.
