Since Kate and I were both off of school yesterday, we took a girls' road trip to Ames to visit the butterfly garden at Reimen Gardens.
But first, we had to enjoy our traditional girls day breakfast: "A cinnamon roll the size of my head" as Kate calls it!
We couldn't believe how many butterflies were flying around the garden, and the warm air felt so good after the winter we have had.
Love spending rare alone time with this girl!
After awhile, Kate decided that she has a passion for photography, so she took over the camera.

We then went to Hickory Park for lunch where we enjoyed some great BBQ, and ice cream for dessert.
What a sweet day to start spring break!
