I say this every year, but this was our best summer yet. The kids are at such a sweet age. We had plenty of fun things to keep us busy, but also enough time at home and relaxing to recharge for the upcoming year.
Our library hosted a really neat party on Harry Potter's birthday. Kate is currently reading the 5th book and is a huge fan, so she loved it. Here she is playing keeper at a Quidditch match.
One night while Jason was golfing, Kate must have sensed how I was feeling because she wrote this note and said "Andrew, come on. I am reading to you tonight". It was the sweetest.
A found frog at the Arboretum.
We said cheers to iced coffee on the patio before we did our morning reading & after taking a drink Andrew said, "I am an adult now!"
I convinced Kate to donate some of her "guys" and I found this note in the donation box. I nearly let her keep them but stayed strong. Because she has SO many.
Lots of game time, which we love.
Sleeping kids melt my heart.
Alisha & I took the circus to the zoo.
Andrew's first flip off the diving board!
Last weekend I drove to Chicago to celebrate my high school friend Scott's wedding. I got to hang out with my Roosevelt friends and it was the best.
Our end of summer tradition: the boys go for ice cream & video games
While the girls paint pottery. This is Kate's 6th plate and we can't wait to add it to the collection below.
My end of summer reflection is always the same: I am so sad it is over, but know how blessed we are to get to spend so many days at home together. I sure do love this little crew of mine!
