We spent yesterday at the Tulip Festival in Orange City. Grandpa Vogel grew up there, so it was fun for us to enjoy some family traditions.
Dressed up in traditional Dutch clothing.
First stop: a replica of a Dutch windmill. Great-grandpa Vogel built this and Grandpa told the kids about his job pounding the "too long nails" into the roof.
After the windmill, the kids went on a few carnival rides, played on the playground in the park, road on a carriage ride around town, and then ate lunch.
The next event was the traditional street washing.
After the streets were cleaned we watched the parade and then headed home. It was a fun-filled day with lots of memories!
