This Saturday we had a party to celebrate Kate turning 3. It was the perfect two hours and Kate could not have had a better time! (Warning: this post is photo-overload but I wanted to include all of the fun!)
About an hour before the party started, Grandma & Grandpa Vogel took Kate to go get balloons. It was a great chance to get her out of the house so we could get things ready, and she had promised Mono a birthday balloon, since he turned 3 too. Here's the purple monkey one she came home with.
Our first game was a number walk: we walked around in a circle until the music stopped & the persons whose number was drawn won a prize. Notice Andrew in the middle-he thought we were all crazy!
Kate won TWO suckers and decided to eat both at once.
Next was a treasure hunt. Jason had taken pictures of things around the house that were Kate's clues. Here she is finding the one in her laundry basket.
It took about 2 clues to get the hang of it, but then she was off!
Here she is at Andrew's crib. For each clue she would hold it up and say "See, it matches".
The final clue lead her to a bathtub full of her presents!
The sweetest part of the day: after opening a present from Andrew she ran and gave him a giant hug.
One of her favorite gifts: orange soap (not as good as the pink soap on Christmas, but almost!)
Another hit: an Eric Carle matching game, she stopped to punch all the cards out before opening up the next gift.
And finally, it was time to sing and eat butterfly cupcakes made by Aunt Alisha.
She sat so still with a huge grin on her face the whole time we were singing.
Make a wish!
I could not have imagined a better day for our sweet girl. Thank you to everyone for making it so special. We love you Katherine Elise!
